Randy Smallwood has served on Wheaton’s Board of Directors since May 6, 2011, and was appointed Non‑Executive Chair of the Board effective March 31, 2026.
He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Wheaton from 2011 to 2026 and as President from 2010 to 2025. He remains actively involved with the World Gold Council, where he served as Chair from 2020 to 2023, and has also contributed his expertise as a director on the boards of several resource companies.
Randy Smallwood is currently the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum’s Incoming President-Elect and will assume the role of President in May 2027.
Mr. Smallwood holds a degree in geological engineering from the University of British Columbia and a mine engineering diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. In 2015, he received BCIT’s Distinguished Alumni Award.
